Candidates to read the following Instructions carefully before filling up the Application Form for registration as a member of ITPI.
MEMBERSHIP OF ITPI• The present members of the Institute of Town Planners, India (ITPI), and others having basic qualifications prescribed by ITPI, time to time, shall only be elected in accordance with the Memorandum of Article of Association and Byelaws of ITPI and shall be entered in the Register of Members accordingly.
• There shall be one class of members of the Institute termed as - Corporate Members i.e. Fellow / Associate
(i) Candidate shall be at least 21 years age;
(ii) Candidate shall on the date of his application have attained an approved standard of proficiency in matters relating to town planning; and
(iii) Candidate shall have passed the examination prescribed by the Institute or shall have been exempted by the Council.
B. Qualification for Fellow Membership (Bye Law No.16)(i) Candidate shall be at least 35 years age;
(ii) Candidate shall be an Associate of the Institute of Town Planners, India for at least 15 years; and
(iii) Candidate shall on the date of his application satisfy the Council of his experience in Town Planning as prescribed by the Council time to time.

i) 15 years Professional Work carried out in the field of Urban and Regional Planning and Development; ii) Class - I Officer having minimum experience of 5 year not below the rank of Town and Country Planner of Central Town and Country Planning Organization (TCPO), or equivalent (the above provision has been withdrawn by the Council decision in its 3rd meeting - 2022-2023, held on 10th December, 2022); and iii) Active participation in the activities of ITPI for promoting the objectives of the ITPI. |
| Professional Practicing as Planners / Self - Employed |
i) 15 years Professional Work carried out in the field of Urban and Regional Planning and Development; ii) Must have functioned as Team Leader on important Town Planning Projects covering a total area not less than 25 hectares; and iii) Active participation in the activities of ITPI for promoting the objectives of the ITPI. |
| Candidate in Teaching / Education |
i) 15 years Teaching Experience in the field of Urban and Regional Planning; ii) Must have minimum experience of 5 year as Associate Professor or above; and iii) Active participation in the activities of ITPI for promoting the objectives of the ITPI. |
| Candidate in Research and / Documentation |
i) 15 years Professional work carried out in the field of Urban and Regional Planning and Development; ii) Independent Research publication in National and International (referred) Journal / Books in the capacity of Senior Scientist or equivalent; and iii) Active participation in the activities of ITPI for promoting the objectives of the ITPI. |
• Screening Committee constituted by ITPI shall evaluate the work of the candidate on the basis of experience, seminar papers, project work, etc.
• A candidate whose membership has been cancelled / terminated shall not apply. In case such candidate applies and pays the fee, the same shall be liable to be forfeited.
• When any member of ITPI is in arrears of fees for one year he is in default (Bye-Law No. 33) and when a member is an arrears of fee for two years, he ceases to have membership of any class of ITPI (Bye-Law No. 34).
How to Fill Up the eform and documents to be submittedI) Filling up of all the columns is mandatory, except optional columns.
II) Clearly visible self-attested coloured scan copy of following documents shall be uploaded.
a.Latest passport size, white background photograph (Size: 2.5 Inch x 3.5 inch)
b. Date of birth proof (DoB certificate or PAN card or Secondary School Certificate)

III) Scanned copy of Cancelled Cheque (Bank details are required for the refund of submitted amount, in case application is rejected).

• In order to submit Application Form, for registration as AITP/FITP membership, candidate has to signup / registers and fills up all mandatory details.
• Candidate’s e-mail address shall be the login ID, and after filling other relevant details; subsequently the password would be generated by the system and sent to the candidate through an email.
• Incomplete Application shall not be processed further and no intimation shall be sent in this regard to the candidate.
• Clicking on accept, means you have understood all above mentioned details and agrees to all the condition prescribed by ITPI.
